Living in Assisted Living Facilities
In assisted living facilities the major handicap that brought them to the facility was diabetes. In a facility it is not uncommon for about half the patients to be diabetic. Further, that the system is doing anything to effectively fight their diabetes disease is a myth. For example you would not expect your doctor to make your blood pressure higher then say he is controlling your blood pressure. You would not expect a doctor to fight high temperature by making it higher. But that is how they fight the diabetic disease by putting your blood sugar level in the range that got you the long term diabetic complications in the first place. Effective diabetes treatment is an individual thing. There is no one size fits all treatment that will effectively treat diabetes. That is however the treatment in an Assisted Living facility. As a result the long term complications continue unabated for the patient. More coming.
